In IX-XI centuries the first wooden fortifying had appeared here. In XIII century the oak paling had changed into the brick walls. In 1396 Mukacheve had felt to the Prince Fedir Koriatovych’s lot.

It is supposed the magnate had strengthened the castle, had put a ditch round and remade it into its residence. And he had ordered to hollow out the well in the rock under the Old tower.

Palanok has already impressed by its impregnability: the walls 5 meters thick, the big constant garrison, 164 cannons, 60 barrels of powder, a lot of provisions....

The Kamianets-Podilskiy Town Hall

Kamianets-Podilskiy town hall belongs to civil buildings of the old town. The exact date of the house building is unknown. Some historians suppose that it was in XVI century, the others are disposed to XIV century. From the beginning of XV till the second part of XVII century the Russian and Polish magistrate had been placed in the house, and in XVIII century only the Polish magistrate. That’s why the second name of the building is the House of the Polish magistrate.

In the first part of XV century the building has had two floors and cellars. The tower has stood in three meters from its northern facade. Both buildings had the Gothic style. They were united in the unitary ensemble after the fire in 1616.

The Anthony’s Caves in Chernihiv

In 1069 the famous monk Anthony, the establisher of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, had come to Chernihiv. He had established the cave monastery of St. Virgin behind the city walls, which he wanted to be not worse than Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The Boldyni Mountains were the most suitable for this, because the gullies were comfortable for the caves.

It had passed almost a thousand years after the digging the first cave in Chernihiv. The monastery was created on the example of the ancient cave Orthodox monasteries and had represented not a big cave town, situated on the slopes of the gully and consisted of a great number of underground buildings. The Pototskiy Palace in Lviv

The Pototskiy Palace is situated in Lviv. The palace had been built in order of count Alfred II Pototskiy in 1889 . The Palace, in style of classicism, was erected on the place of Pototski estate. The French and Polish architects had designed this wonderful palace.

In some time after the beginning of the palace’s building the count had died. The building had stopped. His son Roman has decided to finish his father’s deed.

The palace is built in the French style. Exactly the erecting of this palace, had become the push for the building of Lviv’s buildings in the French style.

The palace’s square is near 3000 square meters.

The Kyiv Fortress of XVIII-XIX centuries

The complex of the fortress is situated on the Pechersk hill, and consists of three basic keypoints of defense: the citadel, the Vasylkivskiy and the Hospital fortifying. The construction of Kyiv fortress started in the first years of XVIII century had been connected with the preparation of the Russian Empire to the Northern war.
